What kind of sessions do you offer?
I photograph stories that feel like home — families, motherhood, maternity, engagements, and generational sessions.
Do you still photograph weddings?
I no longer take on weddings, but I hold deep gratitude for the couples I’ve worked with. In the near future, I’ll be opening bookings for very small, intimate weddings and elopements.
How does booking a session work?
You can reach out through my website contact form or on Facebook — I’ll get back to you within 24–48 hours. From there, we’ll talk about what type of session fits you best, choose a date and time that works for us both, and secure your spot with a signed contract and non-refundable retainer. Once everything’s set, I’ll send a quick confirmation so you know exactly what to expect.
Do you have a studio, or are sessions outdoors?
My studio, previously known as Alyssa K Photography in Canadice, New York, is no longer open. I now focus on a more lifestyle approach. Cake smashes, sitter sessions, and milestones can be held right in your cozy home — where it feels most true to you — or outdoors in the natural beauty that New York offers.
What should we wear?
All sessions include a styling guide that’s customized just for you. Reach out, and Alyssa can prepare one based on your budget and vision. Coordinating outfits with your family or significant other not only creates a cohesive look but also helps the editing process flow beautifully. We’ll also choose styling that suits your location — whether that’s cozy neutrals for an in-home session or soft, natural tones for outdoor settings.
How long does it take to receive our gallery?
Your full, professionally hand-edited gallery in the Wild Haven editing style will be delivered within 4–6 weeks. Sneak peeks are typically shared between the day of your session and up to a week later, but they are not guaranteed. Please note, the contract includes an initial line granting permission for photo sharing. If you prefer not to have your photos shared, you’ll need to reach out directly to Alyssa to request that your images remain private.
How many images will we receive?
Each session includes a set number of images, which is listed in your package details. It’s important to remember that editing is a very time-consuming and detailed process — every image is carefully hand-edited to maintain quality and consistency. If enough additional images are available, they may be purchased for $80 per set of 10.
Do you travel for sessions?
All sessions include travel within a 30-mile radius of Fort Drum, New York. Additional travel is based on the current federal mileage rate and is applied to your non-refundable retainer, which is due at the time of booking. I’m always willing to travel and adventure out to new places — just let me know what you have in mind!
What happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
Depending on the type and style of your session — and whether children are involved — Alyssa may still photograph in light rain. Final decisions remain up to Alyssa’s discretion for the safety of you, herself, and her equipment. If a session needs to be rescheduled, your retainer will remain in place and can be applied to the new date.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
All retainers are non-refundable and due at the time of booking. If you need to reschedule, please reach out as soon as possible so we can arrange a new date. Rescheduled sessions must take place within three months of the original session date. Cancellations made without rescheduling will result in the forfeiture of your retainer.
If Alyssa cancels due to personal reasons, your retainer may be refunded. In the case of emergencies, severe illness, or a death in the family, a refund of your retainer may also be granted.
